READY-MIX CONCRETE
At Rhyne Rock we are constantly striving to improve the quality and workability of our concrete range. All our concrete conform to I.S. EN 12620:2002+A1:2008 and are fully certified by the NSAI. Starting with our course aggregrates which are extracted from our quarry here in Killoe Longford. The Rock, a hard durable lime stone Ideal for a hardworking concrete. These course aggregrates are over 50% of the ingredients required to make concrete. Recently we have introduced a state of the art crushing machine called the VSI (Vertical Shaft Impact) this rock crusher is primarly used for the manufacturing of chips, dusts and smaller aggregrates, because of its unique design it crushes the rock in a more sustainable than the conventual cone crusher. This is turn produces a cultic size & chip allows the chip to bind together for better compaction and also aids the final finishing of the concrete.
Rhyne Rock uses only natural sand which is sourced in two locations in the southern part of the country. Two different types of sand both with their own unique characteristics. One being of a medium to coarse sand and the other of being a much finer sand. The blend of both sands together to the correct consistency for filling between the course aggregates. The added advantage of the natural sand allows an easier finish to the concrete. One run of a bull float while wet and one run when settles gives a good acceptable finish.
Our Cement is purchased from two suppliers. Mannock and Breedon Cement. Both cements are CEM2 designed for Ready-mix concrete, both suppliers are NSAI approved and fully certified.
GGBS we currently have is supplied of Ecocem which is also NSAI approved and certified.
We use Admix which is for water reduction and workability.
